To join our international team, we’re currently looking for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for developing systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable and actionable information for data scientists and business analysts to work with.

You have
-
3-5 years of professional experience
-
Professional working English proficiency; any level of German proficiency is a plus
-
Experience in data engineering
-
A proven record of applying your expertise across a range of industries and organizations

Experience with data engineering tools and platforms such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop
-
Experience in building large-scale data pipelines using distributed storage platforms such as HDFS, S3, NoSQL databases (Hbase, Cassandra, etc.) and distributed processing platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Oozie, Airflow

Experience in MapR, Cloudera, Hortonworks and/or cloud (AWS EMR, Azure HDInsights, Qubole etc.) based Hadoop distributions

Experience in applying data security strategies to solve complex business problems

A proven record of creating Big data architecture, building and operating data pipelines

Time management, interpersonal & organizational skills

Strong sense of responsibility & the ability to work in a structured manner
You will be responsible for

Developing systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable and actionable information for data scientists and business analysts to work with

Monitoring the existing metrics, analyze data, and lead partnership with other Data and Analytics teams in an effort to identify system and process improvements

Providing assistance to a team that is responsible for the design, deployment, and maintenance of the business’s data platforms

Creating data processing pipelines

Writing clean and iterative code based on TDD

Leveraging continuous delivery practices to deploy, support and operate data pipelines

Advising our clients on how to use different distributed storage and computing technologies from the options available
